Do you struggle with negative thoughts and emotions, relationship problems, or feel like you can’t get past the bad things that have happened to you in life? I believe that even in our darkest hours, we can still find beauty, peace, and joy. Fun too! My motto is “We are all a work in progress.” This idea allows us to find a balance between self-acceptance as we are now, while still striving to be our best self. My job as a trauma-informed therapist is to be your copilot on the road to wellness. Helping you to feel empowered and capable to make the changes you want in your life. My warm yet direct approach will help you feel validated and understood, but challenged enough to get outside of your comfort zone and start living the life you want.
I have been a therapist for over 13 years, specializing in trauma, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and self-harm. I use an eclectic approach, matching my interventions to each client’s needs. I consider each client’s culture, strengths and resources in my work. My primary therapeutic orientations, however, are EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am trained in exposure and response prevention for OCD, as well as another evidence-based treatment for OCD called Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT is very different from traditional CBT). I have training in treating complex trauma and structural dissociation. I also provide clinical supervision to unlicensed therapists looking to gain their clinical hours to submit to the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health.
